Thanksgiving and Such

I was very sad to find Addilynn Wednesday with a runny nose, especially at the start of our vacation! Luckily for the first time… Miss Addilynn fought off her cold and did NOT, I repeat did NOT get an ear infection!!! Yay for no ear infections. We are not in the clear yet because she still has a bit of a runny nose but I just thought I would share the good news. This first statement should be an indication of how are Thanksgiving went. Addilynn was sick and surprisingly enough so was mommy. Usually mom is nursing a sick baby and hubby but this time mom lost or should I say Dad lost and I got to be the baby!!

Here are some adventures from this last week

Addilynn’s “smile” face. We went road hunting which was Addilynn’s first trip this year and was her last as well. She screamed the entire way. I’m pretty sure she was on team deer.

These are a couple pictures from her first gymnastics class. She loved it as you can tell from the pictures. She is a blur in most of them. We are signed up to go every Wednesday so we are looking forward to our trip to the studio tomorrow. Addilynn jumped on the trampoline, played on the bars, played with a parachute, jumped on the springboard, did summersaults down the wedge, and walked on a balance beam. Mom even got in on the action and did a front flip on the bars and paid the price the next day. Being out of dance for about 13 years didn’t help the situation.

Addilynn’s first sledding adventure! What a blast. I got to be the photographer while dad pulled her around in the sled. They went around and around the street. We even took turns going down the hill with her in our laps. Mom lost out in this adventure too. I slipped on the ice. OUCH That seems to be the story of my life these days… ouch!

Our 1st Thanksgiving dinner. We didn’t manage to get a picture of Addilynn in her princess dress because she was very tired by the second dinner. I’m so bummed that I missed the photo op. She looked so cute in her maroon and cream holiday dress. May I remind you that she was sick so that this next story doesn’t sound quite so bad!

Addilynn got in a lot of trouble at the second dinner. She has a stuffed pig that she absolutely loves so I thought it would be a good idea to take it to dinner. Well, not so much. Her second cousin Harlen wanted her pig and to keep it out of his clutches she bit him. Big time biting too. So hard she was shaking. Poor little guy he didn’t know what happened he just kept going around showing everyone his teeth marks saying, “Addi.” Unfortunately this wasn’t the last time she bit him either. It happened about 3 more times before we decided it was time to leave!

Here are a couple more sledding pictures. We love taking her outside because this is when she behaves the most. She is such an adventurer that she is only happy if she is outdoors! Well, hopefully I caught everyone up to speed. I will post a couple more pictures if possible on our 365  blog if our computer allows it. Recently we have encountered the “Blue screen of death.” Sounds scary huh??

Oh what fun…

Addilynn and I had a GREAT weekend! She was so good and we had so much fun. Friday we went and visited some old friends. Addilynn got to try a fun dip, which I was against, but she managed to stay up until 10. Go figure! Saturday, we went to visit my papa Frank and Grandma Doris in Emida then back home for a nap. We also went to visit Kari and Darrin and luckily Jeanette and Fred stopped by too so we scored big time! Then our last stop was a quick visit with Hallie but by this time Addilynn was beat so we couldn’t stay long. Gosh we went all over to visit people! HMMM I think its time we stayed home and let them come to us! After all that running around we crashed pretty early and Sunday Dad came home! We missed him tons but he did bring home a stinky buck so now we wont go hungry for awhile. We were so proud of him. Here are a couple pictures of what we did this weekend.

oobleck

Addilynn and I made Oobleck. If you don’t remember what that is, it is corn starch and water. The consistency of Oobleck is somewhat interesting and Addilynn thought so too. She loved it and we had so much fun making a mess.

This is what Addilynn thought of our self portrait session! She thought it was silly that we took about 20 pictures of the two of us and only a couple turned out half way useable. BUT I did complete the challenge Nanny M. We did get one decent picture of the two of us! Thank you so much for the idea it really makes a lot of sense.

New words

15mo 049

Things have been busy as usual in the Turner house! Addilynn is growing like a weed and continues to amaze us. She is talking much better now and is starting to communicate with words instead of grunts and squeals(although she still chooses to use those a lot of the time to get her point across). Granted most of her words are part of her “brat” vocabulary they are still words and phrases. Some new ones are: mine, Go AWAY, Why??, Doris, Jaylee, Nona, Help, All Done, eat, poo, juice, cheese, yogurt, milk, cracker, see you later, the end, love you, ouwee (her way of saying ouch), and she will try to say pretty much anything you ask her to but it mostly comes out as syllables. She does get frustrated because she has a hard time with t sounds they come out more as a p sound, and most of her phrases and words others can’t understand just mom and dad, but she is getting there! I’m sure I’ve forgotten some of her new tricks but you get the idea!

We have been busy but to tell you the truth I can’t even think right now with what. This weekend Addilynn and I are having a girls weekend while dad has his “man” weekend. I picture ours being much more fun and warm for that matter! All in all I hope he gets something good to fill the freezer with.

This just in… the boys are great and someone had some luck!!! Who oh who was it??

Halloween and updates

getting ready

We have had a busy few weeks. Addilynn’s ear infection came back (we think) and she was a terror for couple weeks and now she is back to our sweet little angel. Thank goodness! Mommy and Daddy are much happier when our little princess is happy.

Auntie Jaylee had her volleyball districts and state, in which they got second. Auntie got all league! GO AUNTIE. Also cousin Tia got all league and MVP of the league, and Aunt missy got coach of the year for the second year in a row. We have some all stars on our hands.

Now it is on to basketball. Papa (my dad) got the varsity girls basketball coaching position and we are all really excited for him. Auntie P has her first game of the season this weekend to kick off her basketball season. We can’t wait to watch more sports. Hopefully Miss Addilynn can sit through more indoor sporting events. We had to leave two games in one week because she decided she didn’t want to be there anymore! She calls the shots around this place if you can’t tell.

This last weekend was great. We got to spend lots of time with friends and family. Friday was my annual planning for work and I got to hang out with some of my favorite people all day. We had lunch and were treated to pedicures after. What a great boss I have. Saturday we went shooting and we both did horrible but luckily our friend Cody was there to sight our guns in for us. Trust me I am not proud but I did get some good shots in with the 410 I am a master with that thing!! Hopefully when the pressure is on this year we can both come through! Also, Saturday night we had friends over and had some of our favorite overnight guests! I love when my little man comes to stay and Kyle and Alaina too I guess. We had a great time painting pumpkins and talking. Here are a few pictures.

Addilynn was a Ladybug for Halloween this year. Note to self… NEVER make your 1 year old wear wings they are more work for yourself!! All in all we had a great night and weekend.

I am looking forward to my day off tomorrow. We will start with a walk and coffee with Nona (My stepmom), park with Jessica and Kelby, and then dinner with Grammy (my mom). We may not get the housework done but we should have a good day! Hope everyone's week is starting off great!
