2013 A year in Review (part 1)

This year came and went just as fast as any. We’ve been so lucky to have the family and friends that we have and had a great year with many achievements and blessings. Get ready for a brag session! Here are some favorite quotes and pictures from 2013

Feb 6: A: I want noodles for my snack!! Dustin: how bout a pudding? A: NO! do I look like I'm kidding I want noodles *long pause* just kidding but I really do want noodles!

Feb. 13: My poor Addilynn is coughing up a storm Dustin and I were talking about what to give her to help her and she chimes in with "probably some elk steak!

Feb 23: Why can't you just be nice, not growl at me, and just get me a diaper wipe without being mean???
*insert heavy sight and stomps*
"I'm getting you one aren't I?! Just be happy"

End of Feb: Paisley finally gets teeth!

March 10: The world lost an amazing lady.

March 12: Paisley rides in the swing at home for the first time and loves it!

March 23: Paisley’s first time dying/watching dye Easter eggs

March 24: Paisley learns to crawl! Watch out world.

March 26: Paisley learns to wave.

March 30: Mimicking Addilynn whining and she tells me, "mom stop your not the kid you are an adult!" Haha that kid has all the answers!

Spring break at the end of March: first family of four vacation! First time Addilynn played in the waves, first time at the Zoo and first time seeing and touching a wild starfish!

April 4: A: mom why do those log trucks have cars on them not logs?! Guess someone doesn't get out much to the big city!!

April 9: Paisley starts standing by herself and is also letting go of things to stand independently!

April 12: Paisley’s first ER trip. 103 fever and ear infections

April 20: "Mom why do mommies always have pokies on their legs?"

April 27: First visit to camp of the year! Addilynn got to roast a marshmallow

May 3: Addilynn steals the show at Mr. SMHS by dancing on stage when she is supposed to be escorting!

May 4: Addilynn’s first dance recital and professional manicure/up-do!

May 5: Found out we were having a nephew. Addilynn’s response, "But it was supposed to be a girl!! What are we going to do with a boy?"

May 11: Addilynn’s 3rd gymnastics recital

May 20 or 21st can’t remember exactly but we lost another family member my uncle Timmy. Sad day.

May 21: First camp trip of the season

May 25: Addilynns first bad sliver.

June 1: Auntie Dj Graduates and Addilynn sings karaoke for the first time

June 2: Paisley finally decides crawling is overrated. We got a “walker” this day!

June 6: Paisley’s first hot tub party!

June 15: While taking an innocent video of the girls I catch Addilynn at the end say, “take a video of me peeing on her!” What a creeper!

June 19: Addilynn shoots a bow for the first time.

June 22: Addilynn’s friend party. She had a sugar rush party with a bounce house and lots of friends.

June 23: Our big girl officially turns 4! She got her ears pierced and watched her first movie at the theater. “Wow this screen is big!”

Christmas 2013

 

I know I say this every year, but this year was the best Christmas EVER!

The girls both really enjoyed our busy holiday traditions and they were both super excited Christmas morning when they awoke to their Santa gifts!

This year was also amazing because we took away the stress of gift buying for everyone. Not that we don’t enjoy buying gifts, but the relief of not putting ourselves in debt was phenomenal! In my opinion Christmas gets too commercialized and it starts to become all about the gifts. We are trying to start early teaching the girls its not all about gifts and more about the more important things! It was a wonderful year and we got to share time with the ones we love! We are so blessed to have the understanding family we do. Its hard to split time with everyone and honestly is the main stress around the holidays. We are lucky to live so close to everyone so we can see them frequently.

I’ve said it before and will say it again, my kids hate clothes! So excuse the nakedness in the pictures! Thank goodness for cloth diapers because without the snaps we would be in for some messes. Paisley loves to air out the crack but hasn’t completely mastered the full removal!

The kids had a blast here as always! So many littles for the girls to run wild with.

Paisley was not too sure about Santa here, but she did sit for a second. Addilynn on the other hand enjoyed it thoroughly.

My favorite of all Christmas morning. We try every year to stay home for the entire morning so that the girls can enjoy their goodies and we can enjoy some quality time as a family since daddy has to work Christmas Eve. I always  love to get a shot of the first sight! This year technically Paisley got a bounce house and Addilynn got a tablet, but the bounce house is more of a together gift. I will say both were great gifts! Santa is so smart!

Addilynn had so much fun here she decided to stay! She loves playing with Kenna and Paige.

Another place we visited was the Michael family party the weekend before but I forgot my camera. Ugh I hate when I do that! I did get some Iphone pictures though.

Ugly Sweater Party 12/22/13

This year we went to Jeanette and Fred’s for an ugly sweater party. We were all spoiled rotten and had a blast. Of course the next pictures show the true “naked” colors of my children. We can’t go anywhere without shedding some clothes. It was nice to get to spend a day with the family since the holidays are so stressful and rushed. Thanks so much guys for the great memories and fun we had!
