My Very First Pumpkin EVER

pumpkins

Addilynn’s very first pumpkin ever (this is what she was telling everyone) got carved on Tuesday night with Pete and Shena. Addilynn had fun but wasn’t a huge fan of the pumpkin guts and wished her “ife” or knife had actually been able to cut her pumpkin. She got to use her plastic knife, but it wasn’t as cool. I’m pretty sure Addilynn’s is the best. Can you guess which one is hers? I was told to get a vote on which pumpkin is best. Tall pumpkin, Scary face pumpkin, Spider pumpkin or the “A” pumpkin

Addilynn’s finishing touches to her Cinderella costume came Wednesday and she absolutely loves them. She is actually doing quite well walking in heels too! I can’t wait until she gets to get all dolled up on Monday! Isn’t it every little girls dream to be a princess?

We head to state tomorrow and we leave here at 6:30 so I better get to bed! Good night all and hope I didn’t overload the blogger world with my posts.

Enjoying Fall With APPLES!

First I will start by saying I am posting all of these posts on the same night because well, this is the only night I will be able to update. I go back to work on Monday after a two week maternity leave that my boss took. I will be sad to leave my munchkin but also excited to get back to another love in my life, my job. I think my job as being a mom and wife is way better than my actual paying job but I guess I’m sentenced to 25 years of work (at least) to pay off my student loan debt so…. hi ho hi ho its back to work I go!

Now on to the fun stuff. Addilynn and I had fun with apples on Monday (Oct.24th). We had picked a ton of apples from my grandparents and decided to do something with a few of them. Addilynn and I were busy all morning painting and making a few different kinds of apple sauce. It was my first attempt at making it and it turned out good I’m told. I can’t stand the texture of apple sauce so I will NOT be eating any but the kid and the spouse like it and that is all that matters! Addilynn loved the paint and enjoyed it on her hands as much as she enjoyed it on the paper. She thought it was pretty cool to paint with apples. She also got to help make the sauce, but couldn’t be too close to the action so got bored of it really quick. She got to toss apples into the pan (safely I promise). When she missed she would say, “don’t worry mama we can rinse it!” I love her voice and how she is communicating now. She understands and can say almost anything now and speaks in full sentences. My little girl is growing up so fast and I can’t find any way to stop her.

Packing Up Our 2nd Home

leavingcamp2

Sunday Oct 23, 2011 we picked up and brought home the camper. I will have to say it was perfect timing because we got our first hard freeze at the beginning of the week. I was sad to see it come home like usual, but I think Addilynn beat me this year in the pouting department. She absolutely refused to walk away from her favorite vacation spot. This picture below is of her whining and dragging her feet up to the camper that was already on the road parked and ready to get home. Don’t worry I stayed behind with her until it was parked then I had enough time to run up to the pickup and grab my camera just as she decided it was pretty lonely in the middle of camp with no one around. She didn’t want us to leave after she realized we were serious!

Addilynn helping daddy put up the jacks. This is her favorite part of taking down the camper. Now the countdown to spring begins. 7 months until we get to camp again. UGH its going to be a LONG WINTER……

District Champions!

allleaugue

Last Saturday Oct. 22, 2011 was districts. The girls did great and we enjoyed yet another day of volleyball. The team walked away with a district championship, lots of all leaguers, MVP and coach of the year! We are so proud of all of them but as big sisters do I’m going to have to brag about my little sister a bit. Jaylee was one of the girls who received all league. We have been so proud of her. She went through a tough winter/spring/summer doing physical therapy and getting strong so she could preform her role as setter. We think she did an amazing job and are extremely proud of her! districts3

Celebration after winning becoming district champs!

And of course I had to sneak a picture in of my little up and coming “vol” ball star eating her congratulatory ice cream cone she received after sitting all day in the gym! Bribery isn’t always the key but when you need a two year old to sit still for hours on end I’m not ashamed to say, “yes I bribed my child with ice cream.”

**Knapp’s Farm=Pumpkin Patch Picture Overload**

176151152 copy

Yesterday we took our first trip to a pumpkin patch. We went to Knapp’s Farm at Green Bluff and had a blast! I’m sure you could guess from all the pictures it was a beautiful place and such a great place for the kids to play. Jessica, Kelby, Stephanie, her son Robbie, Addilynn and I all rode up together in Jessica’s trail blazer. You can imagine what fun that was with two toddlers, a one year old, and three sleep deprived mothers! Kelby and Addilynn’s conversation consisted of a few different sayings 1. Mine 2. Don’t do that 3. Mom, Kelby is touching me  4. occasional shrieks

I’m sure there were more but all in all they really did do a great job for being stuck in the car for that long. Alaina was lucky that we met her to pick up lunch so she didn’t have to listen to the battle royale coming from the back seat!  All of us were so excited about how the day went. When we got to the farm, we ate our lunch then started out on our pumpkin picking adventure! After the pumpkin patch we visited the animals and then ran through the maze. This was by far the kids favorite part. They were way too cute watching them run and explore through the giant maze of hay. When the day was done the kids were beyond exhausted and the moms were grateful the day was a total success!

Addilynn went and found this pumpkin all by herself! I didn’t think she would come back with anything but to my surprise she picked out this cute tall and skinny baby pumpkin just her size! She was so proud of it I just had to get it for her!

Addilynn still working on her posing skills! We took a ton of pictures and she was such a good sport stopping to pose every once in awhile.

Addilynn was just as interested in the dirt as she was the pumpkins! Alaina thought it would be really funny to have her put her hands all over her face and it actually made for quite a cute picture. She even looks cute with dirt all over her face and hands!

Addilynn wanted to try and push the pumpkins all by her self, which seems to be her new thing. Everything has to be done by herself. I love her new found independence, and it also serves as a good patience building skill for mommy.

The MAZE….

This last picture totally cracks me up because she has a real issue with sticking her tongue out. She doesn’t even know she is doing it but when she is concentrating she has her tongue out. It makes her smarter! NO she doesn’t get it from me either that would be her father 100% of the way this is one trait I will gladly hand over to Dad!

Senior Night!

100

Sad but true I know, but another one of my sisters is a BIG SENIOR! Jaylee had her volleyball senior night on Thursday. We are so proud of her for all of the wonderful things she has accomplished. She is such a strong, beautiful, caring, and talented young woman and I know she will do something great with her life! We love her so much and are going to miss more than we can explain in a blog post. I think miss Addilynn will miss her the most though “auntie” is Addilynn’s rock she loves to just call her and ramble on and she always wants to go watch Auntie’s vol ball games. She will be a very sad little girl. We will miss seeing her beautiful face so frequently but we have a few more months to moan and groan about that. WE LOVE YOU AUNTIE JAYLEE.
