Perinatologist

All in all our appointment went well. I was pretty upset because St. Maries scheduled me in the wrong department so we almost didn't get to be seen but they squeezed us in. The baby was moving like crazy and didn't want to be photographed so the exciting 4d pictures I was hoping for didn't happen! The ultrasound tech said that things looked good the brain is developing nicely, the heart looked good, and the kidneys looked good. Which is what we were worried about. They said we have a 9% chance of having a baby with downs or something like downs, but we don't care about that. All we want is a baby with working parts! The baby's legs are very long and I am measuring right on our due date which is great! I am still considered high risk because the baby can develop a lack of oxygen and blood flow, or it can have developmental problems but so far so good! I have another ultrasound in 5 weeks to check things again but as of now they say I should be able to deliver in St. Maries (which I'm worried about now because they can't schedule appts, and they got my blood type wrong AGAIN!) Dustin and I are so relieved and can breath easy now for the next five weeks!

our baby was being a show off grabbing its feet and tucking itself in a ball. This is the best picutre they could get the other ones were creepy looking! It did anything it could to avoid a picture! We did get to see it has very muscly calves! She was impressed by those! Oh and the lady kept calling it a "HE" but we told her we didn't want to know so I don't think it means anything but Dustin is convinced now that it is a boy. Another reason he thinks it is a boy is because one Dr. had said he only sees two vessel cords in boys and another said that it is more common in boys! I am still set on a girl because once again I didn't see boy parts!

Just to let everyone know that Dustin and I have our appt. with the perinatologist tomorrow in Spokane. We will get to see our little poppy again and hopefully get some answers that we have been waiting over six weeks for! I'm sure I will let everyone know what I find out since I am such a fan of the blog. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Couldn't find Mickey Mouse

Today we got to peek into baby Turner's world again! The baby seems to be growing just fine, but they were unable to find the third vessel again this time. No Mickey mouse just one ear and a head! We talked to our Dr. and he has referred us to a perinatologist in Spokane. He said he is the only one from here to Seattle and he is very good at what he does. He tried to answer our questions as best as he could, but he said the best bet would be to just talk to Dr. Sigmound (not sure how to spell his name). We are trying to stay positive and keep hoping that nothing is wrong with the baby.

Good news is my glucose screen was normal and they re did my blood typing and I am for sure O+. I feel a lot better knowing they redid the test. I was just wrong all these years!

I am getting excited for the baby to come. Samantha had her baby this morning at 3 and he is doing fine! I only wish I was a little closer so we could meet our little one. I just want to hold it and know that it is fine!

Dustin said something about the baby's nose that I wont repeat, but let me just say THE BABY IS YOURS HUN don't worry!

I didn't get all the answers I wanted today but we are getting closer. I hope I can get in soon over in Spokane so I don't have to wait anymore. Six weeks has been long enough torture.

sad weekend

Sad news this week. Dustin's Granny passed away on Saturday. We were all very sad and will miss her very much. You don't realize how much someone means to you until they are gone which is really sad. She was a great lady and she felt like a granny to me as well. It was very sad to watch her slip away but she is in a better place. Christmas just wont be the same without her gifts (I only wish you could know what i mean)! Some of the things I loved about granny were that she loved Bruiser so much because he reminded her of her old dog (who had a tragic death but sadly kind of a funny one, if you knew granny and the situation). I'm sure some of you think i am crazy for that last statement.
Anyway she loved Bruiser and he loved her... a little too much. Lets just say he would hump her leg as she was trying to walk because he loved her so much.
I also loved her Christmas gifts. Last year Dustin got a bag of garbage with a half eaten granola bar. One year we got a really old wreath that was filled with at least 20 years of smoke. They were always very funny but very thoughtful!
I could go on and on but I will leave you with this last LOVE of granny. Granny always loved to cheat at games so she could win and had a really hard time waiting for her turn. She would get so mad when it wasn't her turn in a game or even opening gifts! It is hard to put into words the love, laughter, and happiness she brought to our lives every time we saw her.
She led a long and happy life I only wish I was able to know her for more than the eight years I did. Even though she couldn't hold on to see her great great grandchild she knew he/she was coming and she will be looking down on him/her. Our baby will know he/she was loved by so many people even if they aren't able to show it in person.
I will have another happier update on Wednesday hopefully with some pictures of little baby T! Hope everyone is having a great start of the week.

26 week appt

Today we had a check up with Dr. Woodall. We talked about a lot of things but some of the most important things were about the two vessel cord, Rh compatibility, and my glucose screen.

I also got to see the L and D room and I am starting Lamaze in April. Fun times are around the corner!

I asked the Dr about his concerns with the umbilical cord (last time we didn't get to talk much because he had to leave and deliver a baby). He said that they did see both kidneys in the ultrasound so they think the kidneys should be fine which is the number one concern with a two vessel cord. Also he said our quad screen was negative which seems funny because I haven't been screened for anything so I need to talk to him about that. It didn't dawn on me till I was home that he had said that and now I am confused! He also said since the baby was smaller then they may have just not been able to see it. If they are unable to find it this next time I will be sent to Spokane to a neonatologist who specializes in ultrasound to take it to the next step. I am sure it wont come to that though.

I also found out today that I am O+ which for the last ten years I have been told I was O-. So that is another thing that makes me wonder. I was told at blood drives and also in college twice when we tested our own blood that I was O- so who knows... I hope they know what they are talking about!

Last but the most horrible is next week I get to go through the glucose screen which will be nasty! I am killing two birds with one stone and doing that and the ultrasound in the same day! Get er done!

This last week and a half has gone by pretty fast we have been busy with the baby's things, room, and birthdays! Dustin's grandpa Fred had a party Sunday and my Grandma Mary had one last night. These pictures are of the family doing what they do best... LAYING around!

working weekend

This is how we started the weekend off! Happy as clams.

This weekend we started work on the baby's room! It was fun but a lot of work too. We spent $75 on paint thinking we got the "good" stuff and guess what... we were mislead. The paint we bought will not dry. We were done painting the blue paint at about 5 on Saturday and wanted to start the stripes on Sunday. Well guess what, tape doesn't stick to wet paint so we had to blow dry then be very careful when painting the brown stripes. Before the painful stripes

All in all things are looking good we are going to try and get the stripes, molding and, border done by the end of the weekend. We ordered our dresser/changer this week so that should be here in the next couple weeks which will be fun. Hopefully this next weekend isn't as frustrating as last! I really hope things look good in the end. AND no we don't know if it is a boy or girl yet but blue is a girl color too! Just so everyone knows:)
