Feeling better everyday

Things have been looking up since her double ear infection days! Addilynn is feeling much better and is starting to get back to her old eating, sleeping, and playing habits.

15mo 045  Last weekend we went up to camp Saturday and it was great. It was just the three of us and I have to say I LOVE FALL CAMPING! It was almost better than summer. The smells, sounds (or lack of), and a crisp air that makes you huddle closer to the fire is what camping is all about. It was sad but happy all that the same time. We ended up pulling our camper home and getting it winterized just in time for the first freeze.

We made a trip to the pediatrician’s office Wednesday to find out that Addilynn’s left ear is still not looking as well as she would like. She said we would check it again in a month to make sure it is healing but if it still has fluid in it or if she gets another infection we will be going to the ENT. I kind of have mixed emotions about this because I definitely don’t want her to go through what she did the last couple weeks, but I also don’t want to see her go through the surgery. From what I understand it is pretty common and a quick procedure so those are a couple things that are setting our minds at ease.

Not much else has been going on other than Addilynn’s fits have been getting a little less scary but still monstrous. She screamed almost the entire time we were shopping in CDA yesterday. I never know what to do in those situations because a lot of people don’t believe in spanking so that is out unless I want to get cps called on me and she doesn’t respond to my “mean” voice. Hmmm I guess we will continue to try and find something that works to snap her out of her rages.

This is a picture from the park she loves enjoying the sunshine but once we get there it is a battle to make her leave. Her and Kelby love to play around on the slides and swings. She even got her first hickey from Kelby. He bit her right on the neck and it made a hickey mark. I thought it was pretty funny but Addilynn sure didn’t!

What a week

UGH I’ve been working on a post called “Remembering Summer” for over a week now and finally went to finish it and it was GONE! It took over a week to write it and now I can’t even remember what it said. It has been that type of week for us… blurry and a mess!

It has been a crazy couple of weeks. I wish I could remember what has gone on to update everyone but my lack of sleep and tired body are keeping my mind in a fog!

I do remember the Buddy Walk it was great! We had so much fun and can’t wait to do it again next year. Addilynn started off with the group in her stroller but before it was half way through she decided she wanted to walk. After this kid gets something in her mind, she doesn’t forget about it. I used to think she would always be easily distracted but boy was I wrong. She is as stubborn and bull headed as her mommy! Needless to say, Addilynn walked almost the entire way. She did hitch a ride with one lady who was in a wheel chair. Her name was Kathy. Addilynn thought that was pretty neat for about 5 min then she was ready to walk on her own again. Lets just say we started out in the front of the line and came in closer to last. We didn’t mind though it wasn’t a race… that was Sunday!!! After the walk we had lunch at Roadhouse and it was amazing like usual! Addilynn even got down and danced again with the music she loves that place!

Sunday was my first race!!! It was great. I was able to jog (which is my run… just ask my family) the entire way! I was really proud of myself. Not to openly pat myself on the back, but it took a lot for this lazy girl to get into shape for that!   It will definitely be a tradition next year too.

Now on to this weeks DRAMA!!!!

Addilynn has been crabby for about a month now. I didn’t realize it had been that long until I was reading back through my old blogs. What would I do without them??? Finally after running a fever Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night we decided to take her in. Now for those of you who are judging our parenting skills thinking “why did they wait so long??”. I’m going to tell you why. Most of the time we take her into the Dr. at the first sign of a runny nose, cough, or fever, but this time we decided to wait it out so we weren’t jumping the gun. We did call the ER and check with a Dr. to make sure there was nothing they could do for just a fever and cough and they said no of course. So finally by Thursday I just had a bad feeling so I had Dustin take her in that morning. She had a full blown ear infection in her L ear and one starting in her R. Wow double ear infections, by this time I was feeling pretty low.

To cut my rambling down, I will cut to the chase. Addilynn was resistant to the Amoxicillin and by Saturday when she made her second trip to the Dr. she had two raging infections and the pediatrician couldn’t even see either ear drum only puss. The last few days have been frustrating and sad because we know how much pain she must be in, but she wont let us comfort her when she has her rage blackouts (more on that later).  We have been exhausting our resources for sitters since she can’t go to daycare in her condition when today we decided she just had to go. This made me sad to think she would have to be around a lot of screaming kids. Lucky for us, my mom knocked on our door at 7 and said she had to take a vacation day to take care of her grandbaby! WOOO HOO what a relief.

Today Addilynn is feeling better and I came home to a clean house, clean sheets, clean baby, lunch and dinner, baby snacks, and a bag of cat litter. Don’t ask me why the litter… apparently in all this madness I’ve been slacking on cat duties:) How she manages to get all that done I don’t know. I can barely go to the bathroom when I’m home with her during the day!! Thank goodness for family we have been so blessed this week to have such great family to pick up our slack!!! Thanks to Ggma Jeanette, Nona, and Grammy you guys ROCK!!!!

This is what I’ve been seeing the last week I haven’t been able to put her down so no good pictures to update with after these they are all frown faces and side shots of her head!

This next part might be a little disturbing to some because it was definitely disturbing to us. Addilynn has been acting crazy the last couple days. I’m not sure if it is just pain, or if she has figured out how to play the cards to get attention. Her first fit was the worst and they have been continuing ever since. Sunday we laid her down for a nap and the rage started. Now keep in mind I said earlier that this child is stubborn and mean so she normally throws some pretty good fits but this by far topped them all. She was in her crib throwing what I thought was a normal fit. She usually kicks the wall and screams for a bit but then realizes she needs to sleep and does. Her screaming escalated to one we don’t hear much so we checked on her. She had blood from ear to ear and looked like the joker it was also all over her crib rail and mattress. She was bleeding so bad from her mouth I couldn’t tell where it was coming from. From the blood smears we came to the conclusion that what we thought was her kicking was her pounding her head into the crib. This was followed by more of those same fits where she would throw herself into the wall and bang her head repeatedly. I’m not so sure why this is all happening, but if anyone has any ideas feel free to let me know. Her pediatrician is calling me tomorrow night to determine if she needs to go in for rounds of antibiotic shots and I am going to let her know about her new form of crazy.

Crabby Patty

This was another busy weekend. We started out thinking we were going to go camping but then realized we needed a weekend to stay home and get some things done. Ya Right!!! Our house is still a mess, yard hasn’t been mowed in at least a month, laundry piled high, and dishes in the sink. Someday I will get my house back in order, but for now I have my hands full with my little beast!

Friday Dustin and I relaxed and watched TV together (something we don’t get to do very often). We could have gotten the house picked up, but it was our “date” night. We were still in bed by 10:30 because Dustin was going out bow hunting for the first time ever the next morning! He took his class this spring and finally got to go out and test his hand with a bow. He didn’t see/hear much. One elk bugled and he saw four grouse. I was really hoping that he would come home with a great big 6x6 and we could celebrate.

While daddy was out trying to stock the freezer Addilynn and I hung out. Our daily tasks were listening to Undo It about 20 times, Screaming/crying, going to Papa’s birthday dinner, and crashing out at 8:30 :) Addilynn had a rough day and so did mommy. For some reason she was fussy all day. She even screamed bloody murder from St. Maries to Emida!!! While kicking the back of my seat repeatedly. I thought fits were supposed to come at a later stage??? I have been thinking it was teeth but who knows. If she isn’t her normal happy self by Wednesday I might take her in just to get her ears checked. I never know if her teething is affecting her nose and ears or if she really is sick. She seems to be a what some moms call “BAD” teether. Every time she gets a tooth (or in her case 4 since that has been the pattern after her first two) she gets a fever, runny nose, ear problems, and doesn’t sleep. Hopefully our next baby will be a “GOOD” teether :) Today, we went to the dreaded Coeur d’ Alene and did some shopping. We got to eat at Texas Roadhouse and it was just as delicious as the first time I ate there! Addilynn was great and loved her lunch. She even got to bust a move with the employees when they did their line dancing! We did find out one thing that is for sure now… She isn’t allergic to peanuts! If she would have been I’m pretty sure that would be the place for anaphylactic shock!  When we got into town Addilynn finished her nap and then it was off to Shena and Pete’s for football. She got to play with the Barden girls and her best buddy Tucker. She can even say Tucker’s name. They are pals!

Now Addilynn is finally asleep and mommy is right behind her! This week should be a little less chaotic but who knows what this crazy life will bring!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend. Enjoy.

Labor Day!

 14mo 028

Swinging with Hallie at Shena and Pete’s house Friday night.

Shena made these shirts for the kids and we tried to get a good picture of them but three little ones are never easy to catch and keep still for a photo.

This has been a busy busy weekend! we started off Friday night with a get together at Aunt Shena’s. Addilynn got to play with a couple of her little buddies, Hallie and Blayze. She loved the swing set and Hallie loved pushing her! The kids were wore out completely when they finally had to go down for bed!

Saturday we went out to Junction with Auntie Bri, Camber, and Grammy. Addilynn is addicted to dip and basically that is all she eats when we go out! It doesn’t matter what kind she loves them all. She has had bbq sauce, ranch, fry sauce, sour cream, and ketchup. Yummy! After lunch we went to the carnival and Grammy got Addilynn a new toy ball. She loved it! She also got to experience her first snow cone. She looked so cute with her little blue mustache. I am so sad I didn’t bring my camera to get a picture of it! Saturday night she stayed with Auntie Jaylee so mommy and daddy could go out on the town and celebrate Paul Bunyan Days. We had lots of fun catching up with old friends especially uncle Jake who was home from Japan to visit! We really missed Nanny M but I guess one of the two were better than nothing :(

Sunday we relaxed all day and finally made it to the carnival again in the afternoon. The weather wasn’t as nice but we still had fun eating chili cheese fries and getting Beau and Addilynn’s pictures taken at the photo booth. We got to see Kellsi and Gary which was nice to catch up and see her growing tummy! She is so tiny and cute still! Then Sunday night we watched fireworks at Trask and Kelly’s and Addilynn was asleep through the whole show. She didn’t get to visit with her family and friends but we got to see them!  Maybe next year she will get to enjoy the great firework show from the hill! After the show, the girls hit the town while the boys babysat. It wasn’t all it was cracked up to be but we still had a good time visiting with all the people we don’t get to see very much. Today we watched Auntie P and Auntie Jaylee in the parade. Addilynn wasn’t a big fan of the parade. She liked it at first until the first horn honked then it was all down hill from there. The only part she got down for after that was when the Jr. Miss girls threw pennies. Hmm Money or candy??? She picked money for sure! What a smart little cookie. She didn’t let go of those pennies until lunch! Then it was time to say goodbye to our friends.

All in all we had a busy yet fun weekend. Addilynn was ready for bed by 5 tonight and took a 3 hr nap. We held her off until 7:30 then the fight began to get her to bed. She hasn’t been sleeping very well lately and we think it might be teeth. Hopefully she can catch up tonight on her beauty rest.

This is a picture of Addilynn getting in trouble by her daddy for having her foot on the table! Notice how she looks horrified. This is now what she does when she is getting in trouble… She tilts her head to the side and smiles at us and I’m pretty sure she is saying “I’m way to cute to get yelled at!”

This was a sucker that she got after lunch today. She loved it so much!

Accidents of all different kinds!

14mo 036

Before the dreaded huckleberry disaster

Addilynn had a rough weekend. She is so accident prone its a wonder we haven’t been turned in to the authorities. She got a bump on her head from the swing outside this week and bruises from daycare on her head and cheek, but this weekend was worse. She fell out of the camper and bruised her right cheek and then fell into a huckleberry bush and gashed her face. She didn’t cry much for either, but she didn’t sleep very good that night. I felt so bad for her.

We did find out that she loves huckleberries. She was eating them and picking them herself that is when the accident happened!

Tonight was her final accident and this one was a different kind. It didn’t leave any scars on her face, only emotional scars for mommy.

We have been working on potty training a little here and there this last week and she is doing ok with it as long as I’m on top of things. It is really hard though with work and our busy lifestyle so it’s not technically officially begun yet :) She made it Sunday from 3 to 7 until I forgot to take her and we were playing outside at my grandmas house. Tonight was a different story! I was running her a bath and we always put her on the potty while we are doing it. She went poo tonight and Addilynn and I were celebrating when I noticed the bath water was getting too full. I took my eyes off of her just long enough to turn the water off and guess what… Addilynn had a poo party all on her own. When I turned back around she had her poo in her hand! Oh my it was gross. Good thing I saw it before it got to her mouth because that would have been one I wouldn’t have been able to stomach!

Birthdays and more birthdays!

14mo 066 copy 14mo 058 copy

Last weekend was a surprise birthday for my Nanny(60) and my Stepmom (40). It was a blast and they both had no clue about the party which isn’t usually the case! They both were crying when they saw everyone it was so funny. These are some pictures from the party

Today was also Dustin’s moms birthday but I didn’t get any pictures. I made potato soup and we had cake and ice cream(from Kadee) and brownies afterward. Addilynn got to take a bath for the first time in their new tub at their new house! We really enjoy having them closer now so they can spend more time with the baby.

This weekend we are getting ready for camping again and I’m sure we will be scouting a good spot for Dustin to hunt. I might have to do the scouting to ensure we have food on the table ;)  Next weekend is the big opening weekend WOO HOO

The pictures are of Camber, Mary and Murl SInes and Addilynn (Addilynns great granparents). Buzz, Addilynn, and Camber (Addilynn’s Great Great Grandpa). The bottom two are me and my Sister and my beautiful niece Camber!

Where did summer go????

13mo 174

The summer has been here and gone in the blink of an eye! The nights are getting cold and the days are almost just as chilly. Today Addilynn was in a long sleeve and pants even playing outside. It makes me sad to think next summer I will have a two year old. I just know that it will come and go as fast as this one. If anyone knows how to freeze my little princess in time please let me know!

We are nearing hunting season again which is another favorite time. I used to like fall because the days slowed down, but not anymore! It doesn’t seem to matter what time of year it is, time just races by. Hopefully one of these days I will have a picture to post of Dustin’s first bow kill… but only if we are lucky. The freezer and the pocket book depend on it! I can’t wait for fall camping, driving in the woods, volleyball, football, and holidays! It seems like yesterday I was dressed as a turd at our friends Halloween party unable to drink because I had just found out we were expecting. Now look at us! We have our own little “turd.” By the way that nick name still hasn’t been changed but I swear we are working on it:)

This is a picture of Addilynn and her daddy playing on the swing at the river lot. We have been able to spend lots of time out there this summer which has been so nice because in years past it has been there but we have had no time to use it! We are so lucky to have a place like that to go and take our little girl to swim and play.

The next few weeks should settle down and I should be able to update more but until then I hope everyone has a great end of summer!
