Family Vacation

Over spring break we went on our first family vacation. It started out rough but ended up being the best memories we’ve made. Paisley got super sick within the first half hour of driving. After she released the beast all over me the drive went amazingly smooth. We stayed the first night in a hotel in Elma, WA just to break up the driving. Then stayed two night in a cabin at Kalaloch Lodge. It was amazing. There was no service, TV, or internet! Dustin and I got to stay up every night by the fire and talk it was the most perfect time. The girls loved the beach and Addilynn got to fly a kite. She had been waiting forever to do that. Dustin and Addilynn got to see a starfish together for the first time and we got tons of seashells. After our stay came to an end on the beach we headed up Hwy 101 to Port Angeles to hang out on the pier for a bit, had lunch, and hit the road again. We caught the ferry and headed to Seattle. None of us had been on a ferry before so it was neat to experience that together. Seattle was a little more stressful and fast paced. We went to the zoo and aquarium and got to meet up with friends each night for dinner. Addilynn loved the meerkats and penguins at the zoo, and the octopus at the aquarium. The drive home was uneventful and we can’t wait to do it all over again somewhere new!

Easter Eggs

Addilynn LOVES dying Easter eggs. She loves eating them just as much. Paise wasn’t a fan and got really bored really fast so she went off to play while we worked hard on our masterpieces.

More Fishing 3/13/13

Any chance we can we like to get the girls out to enjoy the reasons we live where we do. One of our favorite things to do is fish. Addilynn gets bored real quick, but always finds something to keep herself busy!

Paisley got her first taste of Cheetos!

I just love this picture of Addilynn. It shows how much personality is packed into that 38 lb 3 1/2 year old body. She is the silliest, smartest, most outgoing child I’ve seen and we are loving every minute of it!

Paisley starts Crawling!

146

For the longest time miss Paisley refused to crawl. She would do the worm, scoot, and roll to get where she wanted to go. On March 24th she showed us that she could actually do it, but she still didn’t do it unless she wanted to. She would crawl just enough to get where she wanted then plop down and reach as far as she could. Now, there is no stopping her. She is into everything and thinks reprimanding is funny! We are definitely going to have our hands full with this one.

Taking the girls fishing. 3/9 Dustin took the girls down below the train tracks and Doe Doe and I went above. It was freezing and we didn’t get much fishing in. I’m not even sure if Dustin got his line in the water between potty breaks, cold hands, near “swimming” experiences, and baby duty! Were we successful?? In a fishing sense, NO but in other ways yes! It doesn’t matter how many fish we catch. What matters is making memories with our family, enjoying the quiet of the country, and teaching our children the value of the wilderness! Oh and most importantly getting dirty is a must and maggots are yummy!!!
