26 week appt

Today we had a check up with Dr. Woodall. We talked about a lot of things but some of the most important things were about the two vessel cord, Rh compatibility, and my glucose screen.

I also got to see the L and D room and I am starting Lamaze in April. Fun times are around the corner!

I asked the Dr about his concerns with the umbilical cord (last time we didn't get to talk much because he had to leave and deliver a baby). He said that they did see both kidneys in the ultrasound so they think the kidneys should be fine which is the number one concern with a two vessel cord. Also he said our quad screen was negative which seems funny because I haven't been screened for anything so I need to talk to him about that. It didn't dawn on me till I was home that he had said that and now I am confused! He also said since the baby was smaller then they may have just not been able to see it. If they are unable to find it this next time I will be sent to Spokane to a neonatologist who specializes in ultrasound to take it to the next step. I am sure it wont come to that though.

I also found out today that I am O+ which for the last ten years I have been told I was O-. So that is another thing that makes me wonder. I was told at blood drives and also in college twice when we tested our own blood that I was O- so who knows... I hope they know what they are talking about!

Last but the most horrible is next week I get to go through the glucose screen which will be nasty! I am killing two birds with one stone and doing that and the ultrasound in the same day! Get er done!

This last week and a half has gone by pretty fast we have been busy with the baby's things, room, and birthdays! Dustin's grandpa Fred had a party Sunday and my Grandma Mary had one last night. These pictures are of the family doing what they do best... LAYING around!

Bruiser has found my belly to make a great pillow!

Lounging on the couch: Dustin gets the three furry kids and the small couch, and I get the baby in my belly and the big couch! I think it is pretty fair!

They all get along when they are really tired!

working weekend

This is how we started the weekend off! Happy as clams.

Mom Paige and Doris painting the blue paint

This weekend we started work on the baby's room! It was fun but a lot of work too. We spent $75 on paint thinking we got the "good" stuff and guess what... we were mislead. The paint we bought will not dry. We were done painting the blue paint at about 5 on Saturday and wanted to start the stripes on Sunday. Well guess what, tape doesn't stick to wet paint so we had to blow dry then be very careful when painting the brown stripes. Before the painful stripes

All in all things are looking good we are going to try and get the stripes, molding and, border done by the end of the weekend. We ordered our dresser/changer this week so that should be here in the next couple weeks which will be fun. Hopefully this next weekend isn't as frustrating as last! I really hope things look good in the end. AND no we don't know if it is a boy or girl yet but blue is a girl color too! Just so everyone knows:)

After 1/2 of the Painful Stripes! We gave up after 5 hrs of trying!

Concert

So we took the baby to it's first concert last night! It was very loud in there but the concert was great. Brad Paisley was amazing and the others were good too! The baby kicked the whole time. I felt kind of bad because I'm sure it was scary for him/her. We didn't get home until 1:30 and I tried to stay awake the whole way home, but of course I fell asleep after we stopped and got gas at the Casino!

Dustin and I were talking about when the baby gets here. It seems like we have so many things to look forward to until he/she arrives in June.

This weekend is full of painting the baby's room which should be fun! The sisters want to help so Mom, Jaylee, Baby, and Dustin will be doing it while i sit back and supervise! Then March 11th we go in for another appointment. At that time they will set up another ultrasound I am hoping for the next week so we can find out for sure if our baby has a true two vessel cord. Then we get to look forward to Bri's 21st, My spring break the end of march and beginning of April, Maria coming home the first full week in April, Putting the floors in at the end of April, Oh and of course the draft (Dustin is excited for that one). May has Memorial which marks the beginning of camping season and 4wheeling (I will be safe! I promise), also Graduation and the work leading to that (I have a sister and 3 cousins graduating), I've got to have a baby shower or a couple of them before the end of may, and then JUNE!!! That month I get to wait wait wait for baby! We are getting so excited!

shopping!

This weekend flew by like most do. Friday we sat around and watched tv. I was asleep by ten like usual. Saturday we went to Paige's game and then after went over to Spokane to shop for maternity clothes. We had a great day! No fighting or getting frustrated which is always a plus these days with my sensitive frame of mind! I ended up getting two pairs of regular jeans, two under tanks, a belly sleeve (which is the coolest thing ever), one pair of maternity jeans, and two maternity shirts. I felt really bad for spending the money but it is amazing what a few nice outfits can do for you self esteem when your body is being taken over!
I was pretty bummed because Old Navy doesn't carry maternity clothes at the store only online so you have to be pretty brave to get clothes from there. I have heard that they have really good clothes but I am to much of a chicken to shop completely online for clothes!
So to wrap up the weekend today, we worked on a few things around the house and cleaned. Fun Fun!
Well anyway two days, $150, and about three confetti cupcakes later, I am doing great and ready to sit with my favorite man and dogs and watch a couple movies. Then tomorrow it is off to work and another busy week. We have a concert Thursday and we are finally painting the baby's room on Saturday! At least I hope that is.
Hope everyone had a great weekend

new pictures

Here are some new pictures...

the first are of the kitchen the others of my growing poppy seed! It is getting huge. I am finally 23 weeks now!

This is the before! Ugly fake wood grain laminate.

This is the after with the new laminate which looks much much better! It still isnt completely done but for the most part it is!
This is to show everyone that my belly button has become an even bigger black hole. I am pretty sure I can fit my entire fist in it. It is hard to pay attention to the belly when the button is so big!

another gowing belly shot. The baby is kicking like crazy in there! Dustin is feeling it more and more each day.

Bare belly along with the stretch marks. It is all worth it but very hard to get used to!

22 weeks

I am finally over the halfway hump of our pregnancy! Nothing too interesting has been going on this week. The big news is Dustin finally got to feel the baby move but it is still frustrating for him because he can only barely feel it and only the really big kicks and punches. We are trying not to think about the baby's possible cord defect, and haven't been too stressed about it. Jr. miss went good this week and so did GKAS Day. Sunday we took the dogs out for a hike they loved it but it was pretty muddy and they both went straight to the tub afterward. I wonder if they will be so excited next time since they will know what fate will be waiting at home for them... they hate the bath! I just got a bunch of baby clothes today from a friend and everything is so freaking cute I want a boy and a girl! I got a bassinet and a lot of other fun things to get my mind thinking "baby"! I really can't believe it is Wednesday again already! This week went by really fast. I am hoping to get the baby's room started in a few weeks that is if Dustin helps me pick out the paint, finishes the heater, and tapes off the stripes for me! Here is a sketch that a friend of mine did up for me. Under the room drawing is a few ideas for borders I think we will go with the top one since it is the same design as the bedding. Let me know what everyone thinks or if anyone has any ideas!

Good News/Bad News

This week has started off with a bang!
Sunday
Good News: Sunday was the Super Bowl which was a lot of fun. I got to eat a ton of food and be around people I enjoy.
Bad News: The Steelers won and I started off a very busy week tired.

Monday/Tues:
Good News: My Jr. Miss girls are doing a great job with the fitness routine and it has been a lot of fun getting to teach them while getting a little needed aerobics!
Bad News: Still tired, back hurts, muscles ache, and I am worrying about the baby when I'm jumping around!

Wednesday:
Good News: I have the day off and today was our Dr. appointment. The baby's heartbeat was great (158). I get to have another ultrasound in about 5 weeks, and I'm measuring right on track for my original due date!
Bad News: During our last ultrasound they were only able to fine two of the three vessels that are usually present in the umbilical cord and that is why they are giving me another ultrasound in a month or so. Dr. Woodall said that two usually means something is wrong with a kidney or they only have one, but it also could mean that they just couldn't get a good shot of the cord.
Our baby was moving around a ton and so I am really hoping that they just were unable to get a good picture. I am keeping my hopes high because things have been going great so far and I really think that this is a mistake and the baby will be just fine! Even if there is something wrong with a kidney, people live with one all the time! At least it isn't something more complicated.

The rest of the week is busy busy as well. I have Jr. Miss all week from 7-9 but I usually don't get home until around 9:30. Then Saturday is our annual Give Kids a Smile Day where we give kids in this area free cleanings, exams, fluoride treatments, and sealants. It will be fun but very draining. The perfect end to a chaotic week!
