Michael Family Christmas Party 12-17

015

Party number one was the weekend before Christmas at the Michael Family Christmas Party. We went out to uncle Punk’s shop and Addilynn had a successful visit from Santa. The only one might I add. She did really good and I thought that maybe just maybe this was the end of her Santa fear. Addilynn got a bear, camera, and playdoh from Santa at this party and she kept saying, “Santa gave my bear back.” I tried to explain to her that he didn’t take it from her in the first place but apparently I didn’t get through to her since all other Santa visits were a flop!

This is what Addilynn does when she has stickers. Don’t ask me why, but she does it every time! I guess we will have to keep baby oil on hand for awhile until she grows out of this phase! This was on the way home from the party.

Fourth Annual Tree Hunt…

…And cookie making day!

033

This was our fourth year finding a tree at Forever Green Tree Farm together! What a great tradition it has been. I hope Jaylee can be around next year for it since she will be leaving for college. *insert tears here!

The trees were pretty picked over this year but we found one that was “short and fat” the girls said. Oh well it was perfect and the perfect price too! Man do I love groupon. After Dustin massacred the bottom it really did look like a Christmas ball instead of a Christmas tree. After finding a tree and munching on hot chocolate and cookies we waited for a horse ride. Addilynn loves to ride the horses! I think auntie P does too.

cookie making was a hit. Addilynn at first didn’t want to make cookies she wanted to play with Play Doh so I lied and told her the cookie dough was in fact play doh. Well it worked and she ended up having a good time with her aunties!

The CDA Light Cruise 12-7-2011

This is the look of terror! Lets just say Addilynn wasn’t a fan of any thing but the lights on the cruise.

I thought it would be so much fun for Addilynn to see all the lights, but I didn’t realize she would have such a fear of all the other Christmas characters that came along with it. The night started off by her being paranoid by people walking behind us. “hurry dada those people are following us. They're too close dad hurry!” I really hope my people anxiety isn’t rubbing off on her. Then, after we got our tickets of course a Christmas moose greets us at the boat line. “Crystal, you should have known,” I tell myself at this point. Then the panic sets in. It’s not like a normal panic its like hyperventilate panic and real tears panic. “I don’t want to see the moose! I don’t want to see the moose!” She did fine when she got to hide her head and get carried to the boat. I was picturing what the rest of the night would be like in my head at this point since I had been on the cruise before and remembered Santa would be there later in the night. Well to make this a shorter story, she LOVED the lights, hated Santa, and really hated that the moose followed US back up the board walk. Come on people if you are dressed up and you see a little girl freaking out stop waving to her and definitely DON”T follow her. Everyone around us could see the panic and were even laughing at it. Laughing? yes I’m not sure why. I knew the aftermath wasn’t going to be good since our daughter struggles with night terrors. Poor baby girl! Then the night got funny…

After the cruise we went to dinner with Trask, Kelly, her sister Kate, and Kate’s son Fin. There was a magician there who was actually really good. He did the classic coin in the ear trick to the kids and Addilynn didn’t think that was funny. Pretty soon she started digging in her ears then her hands covered them and she didn’t take them off until he was gone. This guy was NOT getting anymore money from her! Later we asked her if she had any more money in her ears. Her response, “ I DO NOT have money in my ears.” Then we asked her if she had any dirt in her ears. “I DO NOT have dirt and I DO NOT have money in my ears.” she didn’t think it was funny, but everyone else got a kick out of it!

Thanksgiving 2011

015 copy

This Thanksgiving we only went to two places (Kari and Darrin’s and Bonnie and Jerry’s)and it was nice to not have to run but sad to not see all of my family. There are just not enough hours in the holidays to see everyone and I guess that is something I will have to get used to! I hate to think of the day that we have to alternate years to eliminate the rush of holidays! Addilynn enjoyed getting to spend time with everyone and she found something to eat at each place. She loved the inside of the deviled eggs. I would have to say that and the meat were her favorite!

The new generation of hood rats causing trouble! They had so much fun playing together. It’s hard to believe someday they will be “too big” to be around the grown ups and will congregate in the basement where each generation of pre teens and teens have hung out.

Addilynn had a play date with Mr. Kelby again over break and they managed to have a blast like always! Addilynn enjoyed Jessica’s turkey cookies and had the blue icing stains on her hands for a couple days afterward to prove it.

This last picture I LOVE. Addilynn and I went to Coeur d’ Alene to shop on Saturday. Addilynn loves her binoculars so much she takes them in the car and is constantly looking out the window with them. We just so happened to see thousands of birds on the lake so we just had to pull over and observe them. Addilynn was so excited her loud squeals spooked them and they started to fly. It was one of the neatest sounds to hear that many wings flapping at the same time! What a great experience my little tinkerbell fairy and I got to share!

Not Much Going On…

004005

The first snow! Addilynn found the snow and we were out in it before it was even fully light out! She loves it. Today she wanted to take her gloves off and her hands got so cold they hurt. Even though it was her idea she was mad at her dad for it!

Addilynn on Grammys new horse with Papa Frank. She is a horse lover. Now we just need to get daddy on board!

Addilynn likes to take pictures now and she tends to get her fingers in the way.

She is becoming quite the independent little thing. She likes to pick out her own clothes, fix her own hair, pour her own milk (which usually makes some sort of mess), and many others I can’t think of at this time. She is still talking up a storm and has even been speaking some Spanish. She told Camber to say gracias instead of thank you, and she can count to eight in Spanish as well. She is getting so big. I love seeing all of her new attitude changes like the sassy way she says mom sometimes, or the eye rolls and the way she tells us “just call me Tinkerbell.” She tells us what to say to her when she is referring to herself as tinkerbell. She has a great imagination and I hope it doesn’t ever change.

Who doesn’t love a tutu?

025

Addilynn had a play date with Izabel this weekend. I couldn’t get the two of them to stand together for a picture but I did get a few of Addilynn rocking out to twinkle twinkle little star. She always has to put something on to wear when she is dancing. She says “I need a dress so I can spin” It is absolutely the cutest thing ever!

Here is the shirt we made for Auntie Jaylee with the help of Paige and Alexa. Addilynn was extremely tired when we got home from state so she is mid yawn in this picture. I thought it was pretty cute!

Addirella Halloween 2011

013

Addilynn loved playing dress up for Halloween this year. She loves Cinderella so it only seemed fair to let her transform into her favorite Disney princess for a night. She played the part well because her jelly heels kept falling off. She would say “my shoe my shoe” and we would have to run back and grab it. She was exhausted by the time we were done with chili at Grandma Mary’s and she got lots of goodies from everyone. She started off the night by not wanting to go (she said her back hurt and she didn’t want to go trick or treating) by the end of the night she was having a blast. She even got to experience the art of a group treating when a group of kids ran up to one of the houses we were at. Her eyes lit up and she ran right up to the door with them. It made me happy and sad at the same time. My poor baby didn’t have a clue what it was all about. Her idea of trick or treating is getting drug from house to house to see everyone that we want to see or want to see her. Next year we have decided she will get to experience REAL trick or treating to the fullest.
